# Quick Installation Guide

> Step-by-step setup instructions

  <Step title="Power Supply and Power On" stepNumber={1} titleSize="h3">
    Before plugging in the unit:

    * Verify the position of the **mains voltage selector** (200/240V or 100/130V) on the rear panel.
    * Use the supplied **three-pin Interlock power cable**.
    * Ensure **proper grounding**.
    * The unit has a **power switch** on the rear panel.

    <Danger>
      Never connect the unit without verifying the correct position of the voltage selector.
    </Danger>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Unit Control" stepNumber={2} titleSize="h3">
    **From the front panel:**

    The front panel includes a **control wheel**:

    * Rotate the wheel to select options and change values.
    * Press the wheel to confirm a value or access an option.

      The display shows status menus, active inputs, gain settings, and audio presets.

    **Remote control via WEB interface:**

    * Connect the **Ethernet** port of the 542APC to the local network using a standard UTP cable.
    * Factory setting is **DHCP**: the router will automatically assign an IP address.
    * The IP address appears on the processor's **startup screen**.
    * From a computer on the same network, open a web browser and enter the processor's IP address.
    * The **web remote control home screen** will appear.
    * To edit options, go to **ADJUST** mode in the top right corner of the screen.

  <Step title="Input Connections" stepNumber={3} titleSize="h3">
    * Balanced analog (XLR) – default input.
    * Analog RJ45 – compatible with StudioHub®.
    * Digital AES3.
    * Audio stream (optional AoIP module).

  <Step title="Input Adjustment" stepNumber={4} titleSize="h3">
    * Analog inputs calibrated to **–18 dBfs** for nominal level of **+4 dBu**.
    * With the console at 0 VU, signal peaks at the input should be between **–22 and –9 dBfs**.

    <Note>
      If necessary, gain can be adjusted from the front panel.
    </Note>

    **Selecting an input (front panel)**

    1. Rotate the wheel to the **INPUT (VU meters)** screen.
    2. Press the wheel to access **active input**.
    3. Rotate the wheel and select the desired input (e.g., *2:ANALOG2*).
    4. Press to confirm.
    5. The active input is indicated by an arrow on the INPUT screen.

    **Changing input gain (front panel)**

    1. Rotate the wheel to **SETUP MENU** and press to enter.
    2. Rotate to select **IN** and press to enter **INPUT SETUP**.
    3. Press to enter **INPUT SEL**.
    4. Rotate to select an input and confirm.
    5. Select **GAIN** and press.
    6. Adjust by rotating the wheel (clockwise = more gain), ensuring peaks stay between **–22 and –9 dBFS**.
    7. Press to confirm.
    8. Rotate to select **BACK** and confirm to exit the menu.
    9. Rotate again to BACK and confirm to exit the SETUP menu.
    10. Changes are saved automatically.

  <Step title="Outputs" stepNumber={5} titleSize="h3">
    **Baseband MPX**

    * Stereo generator with **dual MPX output** with independent levels.
    * Connect to the transmitter with coaxial cable (50 or 75 Ohms).

    **Balanced audio**

    * Two stereo analog outputs: XLR and RJ45.
    * Can deliver:
      * Audio with 50/75 μS pre-emphasis.
      * De-emphasized audio (for streaming or translators).

      Emphasis activation is done via **Web Control**.
    </Info>

  <Step title="Tuner and Transmission Monitor" stepNumber={6} titleSize="h3">
    The 542APC includes:

    * **Internal tuner**
    * **Modulation meter**
    * **Calibration tone generator**

    **Reception antenna**

    * Connect the telescopic antenna (included) to the **FM ANT (BNC)** connector.
    * Two antennas are supplied:
      * Telescopic (recommended at transmitter sites).
      * Fixed micro-antenna (when field strength is excessive).

  <Step title="Modulation Level" stepNumber={7} titleSize="h3">
    **Calibration tone**

    1. From a browser (preferably Chrome), enter the **unit's IP**.
    2. Click the **SETUP** button (top right).
    3. In the side menu, select **FM Output (MPX)**.
    4. Activate the **Calibrator**. Input audio is replaced by a sine tone.
       * Pilot: 9% – RDS: 4% (factory defaults).

    **Modulation adjustment**

    1. In Web Control, go to **FM Receiver/Analyzer**.
    2. Tune to the station's frequency.
    3. Check the level on the **modulation meter**.
    4. The **RxQTY** indicator should show **GOOD**.
    5. Adjust antenna orientation or type if reception is poor.
    6. Adjust the **MPX input level at the transmitter** until desired modulation is achieved (100%).
    7. Factory MPX output level: **5 Vpp** (adjustable via Web Control).
    8. Turn off the calibrator: normal input audio modulation will resume.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sound Adjustments" stepNumber={8} titleSize="h3">
    Listen to different factory PRESETS to select the sound that best fits your station's needs. Tune using a good audio system. You can also listen using the 542APC's internal tuner (use good headphones).

    The unit includes **factory presets** and user memories:

    * 16 fixed presets (non-modifiable).
    * 16 user memories to create custom settings (via Web Control).

    ### Preset selection (front panel)

    1. Rotate the wheel to the **PROCESS** screen.
    2. Press to change the current preset.
    3. Rotate and select a new preset.
    4. Press to confirm. The on-air sound will gradually transition to the new setting.

    ### Sound Wizard (WEB control)

    Allows modifying any preset with 4 basic controls:

    * Bright (highs)
    * Bass (lows)
    * Compression/Density
    * Loudness

    Additional stages (enable/disable):

    * Parametric EQ
    * Bass enhancer
    * Stereo enhancer

  <Step title="Remote Technical Assistance (RTA)" stepNumber={9} titleSize="h3">
    The unit enables remote connection for factory support. \
    Steps (requires prior coordination with Support Team):

    1. Connect the 542APC processor to the **LAN** (control Ethernet).
    2. Install the **reception antenna**.
    3. Verify access from a PC by entering the **IP in a web browser**.
    4. Download **TeamViewer QuickSupport** from:\
       [https://get.teamviewer.com/solidynequick](https://get.teamviewer.com/solidynequick)
    5. Run the `TeamViewerQS.exe` file.
    6. The "Allow remote control" window will appear with direct chat to Support.
