# Introduction

## AoIP Streaming Module

Consoles equipped with the optional **/AoIP** can include up to **two audio streaming service modules**:

* With **1 module**: they transmit the **PGM** signal.
* With **2 modules**: they transmit **PGM and REC**.

**AoIP Applications:**

* **Transmitter site link** (STL) using dedicated receivers (Solidyne **ADA102**,

  Solidyne **542 APC /AoIP** processors).
* Direct link with another /AoIP console (Solidyne **2600**, **DX** or **UNIDEX** series).
* Sending the PGM/REC signal to a remote computer on the network, decoded with standard streaming software (e.g., **VLC Player**).

### AoIP Module Power Supply

AoIP modules are powered through **USB** connections. They require at least one USB to be connected to a **powered** computer.

<Warning>
  If the console is not connected to a USB computer, or if it is powered off, the IP service **will not be available**.

<Note>
  In the absence of a computer, it is possible to connect a **standard USB power supply (5V)** to power the AoIP modules.
