UX18 Main Panel Zones and Controls

UX18 Surface A — Channel Controls
Traditional controls with faders, assignment buttons, on-air, and pre-fader listen (PFL).
They operate conventionally and allow direct handling of line communications, VoIP, and Bluetooth cell phones (via UDX TELCO adapters).

C — Touchscreen
A 7” screen used to operate multiple console functions. Includes 4 contextual quick-access buttons and a rotary encoder with push button.
D — Monitoring and Intercom
Area dedicated to monitoring control and the talkback circuit.

Main Screen

Level Meters

The PGM, REC, AUX, and VBUS meters display:
  • Average level in VU (slow-moving blue bar).
  • Peak level in dBFS (floating yellow segment).
The scale is calibrated in dBFS, where –20 dBFS corresponds to 0 VU.
The numeric value on the right shows the current maximum (in VU or dBFS) and toggles by tapping on the number.
The main meter remains visible on all screens and the bus can be changed by tapping the bus name on the left.
Note on levels:
The meters display the bus level.
  • On digital outputs, the level matches the output level when gain is set to 0.
  • On analog outputs, 0 VU = –20 dBFS, with nominal levels of +4 dBu (balanced) and 0 dBu (unbalanced).
If a gain level higher than nominal is set, the headroom is reduced and clipping may occur before the meter indicates it.

CUE Level

Displays the CUE bus level, after the physical level knob.
