To achieve optimal long-term results from this console, we recommend following the procedures outlined in this manual.

Console Maintenance

  • Keep the room clean and dust-free.
  • Clean front panel and enclosure with a slightly damp cloth or sponge.
  • For stubborn dirt, use mild detergent (for painted or wallpapered surfaces).
Do not use alcohol, benzene, petroleum derivatives or furniture cleaners.
Smoking is prohibited in the control room.
Ash and dust are lethal to faders and buttons.
Food and beverages should also be restricted in the operating area.
DX consoles use next-generation conductive ceramic faders:
  • Service life > 10 million operations (~15 years of use) under normal operating conditions.
  • Maintenance-free.
  • More information at www.SolidynePro.com.

Preventive Maintenance

The DX816 and DX822 consoles use high-quality electronic components, eliminating the need for preventive maintenance routines.
  • Handle the console with care.
  • Rear panel connectors are not designed for daily mating/unmating.
  • Avoid connecting headphones directly to the console.
If headphones are frequently changed, install an external patch panel to prevent connector wear.

Replacement Parts

  • All channel faders include connectors.
  • Main faders are easy to replace:
    • Mounted to chassis with two screws.
    • Polarized connector for quick installation.
Once removed, any module can be repaired as all components are labeled in the Service Manual.
We recommend purchasing the complete module for replacement, given the low cost versus repair time.
