Using with mobile phone (Bluetooth)

To operate a phone on the console, it must be paired with the Bluetooth TELCO device.

Quick reconnection

  1. Ensure the TELCO fader is in CUE position (closed).
  2. Enable Bluetooth on the console: hold down BLUETOOTH for approximately 5 seconds and release as soon as CELL PHONE lights up blue. The button remains flashing with slow intermittence.
  3. Enable Bluetooth on the mobile phone → the link is reestablished.
  4. Incoming calls can be answered from the mobile phone or using BLUETOOTH on the console.

Incoming call (mobile)

  • Rings on the mobile phone and in CUE (TELCO closed). CELL PHONE flashes blue.
  • Answer with a short press on BLUETOOTH (or from the mobile phone screen).
  • Preview conversation: With fader in CUE, the call is heard through CUE.
  • Press TALK to speak. The button is latched; press again when done speaking.
  • HOLD: move the fader to HOLD zone, caller hears program, not on air.
  • ON AIR: raise the fader to reach appropriate level.
In conferences between mobile and landline/VoIP, there may be echo in the remote journalist’s return. It does NOT go on air.

End communication

  • Short press BLUETOOTH on the console, or end from the phone.

Resume on mobile

  • On the mobile phone: exit Headset/Bluetooth mode by switching to Speaker.
  • To return to console: switch back to Headset mode (varies by phone model).

Making calls from mobile

  1. On the mobile, disconnect Bluetooth to speak from the phone.
  2. Establish the call.
  3. To transfer to console, switch to Bluetooth/Headset mode.
  4. With fader in HOLD position, mobile receives return from console but is not on air.
  5. Raise fader to put on air.
  6. To end: short press BLUETOOTH button or end from mobile.
You can also establish the call without exiting Bluetooth mode on mobile, with fader in CUE position and using TALK to speak from the console.
